Шёл второй год моей работы в вузе. На первом занятии в новой группе на факультете физического воспитания сказал студентам: 

“Знаю, что вы боитесь английского. Вы нереально крутые в спорте, а английского не знаете. Вам страшно оказаться в ситуации дискомфорта - унижения и потенциального отчисления. Этого не будет. Знаю, что вы классные спортсмены. Знаю, что нельзя быть профи во всём. Знаю, что вы ведёте себя нагло и вызывающе потому, что вы боитесь. Бояться не надо. Никто не будет отчислен. Надо только посещать занятия и делать домашнюю работу около часа в неделю. Сможем? И да, мне тоже страшновато, потому что … я спортом не занимаюсь”.

После этого всё было хорошо. Было спокойно и безопасно. Было продуктивно и эффективно. Было весело и эмоционально.

У нас получилось создать образовательное пространство, основанное на доверии. Пространство, где можно быть самим собой. Пространство, где понятен смысл происходящего. В этом пространстве произошло удивительное: академический процесс ускорился в разы. В разы! Оказалось, что можно чувствовать себя хорошо и достигать при этом таких высоких академических результатов. Так начался долгий путь поиска способов создания безопасных образовательных пространств.
